Lucton School in Herefordshire has joined the Alpha Schools Group, a leading education provider with another twenty independent schools across the country under its wing.
Dr Tony Paterson, former Chair of Governors, explains:
“Lucton has had to contend with a number of challenges for many years in the competitive independent schools’ market, especially since COVID-19. While a number of other schools have succumbed to these pressures and closed, we are thrilled to be protecting our 313-year heritage and securing an even more prosperous future for Lucton in partnership with Alpha.”
Alpha Schools was founded in 2003 by Mr Ali Khan and has grown to be one of the largest operators of Independent Schools in the UK. Mr Khan has over a decade of headship experience and an excellent track record of identifying promising schools and helping them to reach new heights:
“It quickly became clear upon visiting Lucton what a special place it is. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and it feels full of purpose and potential. My team and I are thoroughly looking forward to working with the Headmaster and his staff to make the most of that potential and set Lucton up for another 300 years of success.”
Headmaster, Jon Tyler, said:
“This is a very exciting partnership. The opportunity to work with a team of passionate educationalists, who have the skills, resources and track record that Alpha do, offers some tremendous possibilities for the future. I look forward to driving the school forward together.”
