Luctonians Sports Club was formed in 1948, predominantly a collection of old Lucton Schoolboys (OLA). Though we have shared a long association with the club, this exciting new partnership provides a host of benefits for Lucton students including access to expert coaching and use of Moritmor Park facilities, as well as developing a competitive pathway for Lucton School students to play rugby for Luctonians RFC. In addition to rugby, students also have the option of using Mortimor Parks’ cricket pitches for fixtures, and joining forces in other sports including cricket, netball and rounders.
Said Kari Quant who formalised this recent partnership, “This is brilliant news for Lucton and we are thrilled to have solidified our association with this excellent sports club. It is a great opportunity for both the School and the Sports Club to create a pathway for students to enhance their opportunities and improve their sporting performance whilst combining it with academic study.”
Alex Smith, Director of Operations at Luctonians Sport Club, on signing the agreement commented, “It was lovely to find out more about the vision and school’s aspirations; finding it very uplifting and exciting.”
The first showcase of the partnership was the Year 7’s scholars assessment on Friday 28th January, when Luctonians coach and our own rugby coach, Mr Goodchild, delivered a rugby session for current year 6 boys.
