Minibus Driver

Job Advert

We are looking for a trustworthy and dependable part-time School Minibus Driver to join our school. The ideal candidate will hold a valid UK Category D1 driving license or be willing to train towards obtaining their Category D1 entitlement.

Lucton School is a co-educational independent day and boarding school for children aged 6 months to 18 years old in Leominster.

About the Role and You

Contract type: Part-time, permanent.

Working pattern: Monday-Friday, Term Time Only, AM & PM with flexible hours available.

Salary: Experience Dependent

Start date: Immediate Start Available

As our Minibus Driver, you will be responsible for:

  • Safely operating the school 36 seater minibus, keeping accurate records of daily mileage and fuel consumption.
  • Conducting pre- and post-trip inspections of the minibus, reporting any maintenance or repair needs and carrying out daily and weekly vehicle checks.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a valid Category D1 driving licence.
  • Has a clean driving record.
  • Is punctual and reliable
  • Is flexible and adaptable

Maintenance Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Maintenance Assistant to join our school. Could that be you?

About the Role and You

Contract type: Full-time, permanent.

Working pattern: Monday to Friday, All Year Round

Salary: £24,000 per annum

Start date: Immediate start available

As our Maintenance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running and maintenance of our school’s facilities. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will contribute to creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

You will take pride in maintaining our school, from day-to-day repairs to painting and decorating, to completing risk assessments, carrying out security procedures, checking equipment etc.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting regular inspections of the school estate to identify and address maintenance needs, including repairs, carpentry, painting and decorating and general upkeep.
  • Ensuring all Health and Safety standards are met and adhered to.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience in a similar maintenance or caretaking roles.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures and regulations.
  • Basic handyman, carpentry, painting and decorating skills.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy objects.
  • The ability to be quality-focused, efficient, able to work at pace, and highly motivated.

Kitchen Assistant

About the Role and You

Contract type: part-time, permanent.

Working pattern: 23 Hours per week on a rotation basis

Salary: £11.44 per hour

Start date: Immediate start available

Responsibilities:

  • Washing up, loading, and emptying the dishwasher throughout the day, including hand washing of any crockery and large cooking items.
  • Assisting the Cook-In-Charge with preparation of food and beverages and cooking meals.
  • Ensuring high standards of food safety and safe working practices.
  • Helping and supporting the Cook-In-Charge to deliver the menu meals to the required standard when necessary.
  • Supporting the Cook-In-Charge in the effective operation of the kitchen.
  • Helping to sanitise and set tables for lunch, including condiments and sauces.

What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience in Kitchen work and experience of working safely with food.
  • Strong attention to detail with physical abilities to move the kitchen equipment around.
  • Flexibility to deal with various requests.
  • Someone who is reliable and approachable.
  • Someone who is willing to undertake training.

Your main responsibilities will include:
